Acne on your nose? On your cheeks? Here’s what it means…

I always suffered from cystic acne on my cheeks but I noticed that pimples would appear on other areas of my face depending on what I was eating, drinking and even feeling that day or the day before.

If we could pinpoint exactly why we get acne in specific areas we could basically prevent it from happening. But how much truth is there to the acne facial map?

Ayurveda is an alternative medicine system with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent.

According to Ayurvedic medicine, acne on the cheeks comes from either the lungs or the small intestines which means you may have digestive issues such as constipation or respiratory issues(smoking?). Quit smoking, take probiotics and combine a clean healthy diet and enough exercise to improve your bowel movement.

Keep getting acne on your nose? It either has to do with lack of overall skin hygiene that you need to maintain or with the cardiovascular system so protect your heart by adding Omega 3, fish oil, walnuts and green leafy vegetables to your diet.

Acne on your forehead probably means you’re eating too much sugar and refined carbs, so avoid these foods in particular and switch to a fiber rich plant based diet if possible.

Pimples around the jaw, neck and chin line? You’re either very stressed or you have hormonal imbalance. Do daily meditation to alleviate anxiety and see your OBGYN to correct hormonal issues.
