Suffering From Scalp Acne? You’re Probably Using The Wrong Shampoo

Your scalp, like your face, can have clogged or blocked pores. This is usually caused by excess oil production combined with dead skin cells as well as skin irritants found in hair care products like shampoos and conditioners.

These scalp pimples are usually very sensitive to the touch and can be painful. Some of them are actually raised and you can feel that bump with your fingers. What can you do to eliminate them and prevent new ones from developing?

Diet has a lot to do with it because as mentioned above excess oil can be a primary cause for blocked pores. So cleaning up your diet can help, but it may take at least 7-10 days before you start noticing those pimples and bumps begin to fade and disappear.

Cleaning up your diet means not only lowering fat and oil consumption of any kind but also avoiding all sugars as well as dairy products. Consume only whole fruits(not juices) and vegetables raw or cooked as well as legumes. Stay away at least for a limited period time from nuts and seeds as they also contain too much fat.

Second most important thing is to stop shampooing altogether for at least 7 days. Use only lukewarm water.

You are basically allowing your scalp to breathe this way by avoiding contact with harmful substances such as SLS and others. This is not for life but only to allow the scalp area to heal. Choose more natural SLS and Paraben free products instead.
